After some cryptic teasing here and there, Floridian heavy metal outfit Trivium are back with a brand new song, ‘The Sin And The Sentence’, which is the band’s first offering of fresh output since their 2015 studio full-length, ‘Silence In The Snow’.
‘The Sin And The Sentence’ is also the band’s first cut to feature their new drummer, Alex Bent, formerly of Battlecross, who joined the band earlier this year.
Trivium debuted the track with an accompanying rather haunting video, which sees frontman Matt Heafy be imprisoned, lashed with whipping, and, ultimately, stabbed in the back.
You can stream and watch the video for ‘The Sin And The Sentence’ below.
The track is expected to feature on the band’s yet-to-be-announced eighth album, which is anticipated to see a release later this year.
More details surrounding the band’s new album will be confirmed as it develops.
