North-East based punks Boy Jumps Ship have unveiled the video for their new single ‘Working For The Weekend’.
The video, a kaleidoscopic landscape that portrays the rat-race environment of the working week, follows on from the band’s debut album ‘Wake Up’, which was released last year.
Of the subject of the song, drummer Gav Gates said:
Working For The Weekend is all about getting bogged down with a nine-to-five job that you don’t like, or finding yourself in a situation that you’re struggling to get out of. It’s about being persistent and tenacious, following that light at the end of the tunnel with determination and drive no matter what doubts you might have. It’s written from our working class perspective, these are things that we have been through ourselves and we see going on around us everyday.
Boy Jumps Ship will also be playing a headline show to close out the year at Riverside in Newcastle on December 17th. The concert will be in aid of The Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, in remembrance of Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry who passed away in the attack on Manchester Arena earlier this year.
Tickets for the show are available now (here).
