TOP 10 ALBUMS OF 2019!

It’s almost the end of another year, and also another decade too. 2019 really has been quite the year for new releases, both from established bands and those who’ve just started to make a name for themselves.

With so many great new albums dropping throughout 2019, it’s difficult to narrow down what the best of the best are, but we here at DEAD PRESS! have come together and believe the below marks the cream of the crop. Here’s what we believe are the top 10 albums of 2019.

10.) Blink-182 – ‘Nine’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“It’s unlikely that fans would’ve been expecting ‘Nine’ to be as mature as it, but it’s dark and light in equal measure, and that in itself is wonderful. This may just be Blink-182’s best album since the good old days, and they weren’t even trying to relive them this time.”

9.) Holding Absence – ‘Holding Absence’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“Whilst the creation and public presentation of this record is something that has been awaited for a long time now, Holding Absence prove that art cannot be rushed, relinquishing a stellar debut that bares the human soul, emotion, and conviction in abundance.”

8.) Fever 333 – ‘Strength In Numb333rs’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“By being aware of their potential influence, Fever 333 take a measured approach to the message and the material that they produce. With ‘Strength In Numb333rs’ steeped in conviction, the record sets the bar high for their contemporaries.”

7.) Gender Roles – ‘PRANG’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“‘PRANG’ serves up a great collection indie-punk anthems, and almost certainly the best that Gender Roles have had to their name so far. If you need a record to sell you this genre mash-up, then ‘PRANG’ is the answer.”

6.) Dinosaur Pile-Up – ‘Celebrity Mansions’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“For a record Dinosaur Pile-Up thought might be their last, this would be some way to go out. Yet, that shouldn’t be the case, as ‘Celebrity Mansions’ shows exactly why the excellent Yorkshire three-piece are here to stay, be loud, and do whatever the hell they want.”

5.) Stray From The Path – ‘Internal Atomics’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“There’s not a single boring moment on ‘Internal Atomics’. Stray From The Path are the kings of rebellious and confrontational hardcore, and dethroning them is a mission best left untried.”

4.) While She Sleeps – ‘So What?’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“While She Sleeps are experts at their craft, and on ‘So What?’, they’re ballsy enough to push it a few steps further. It’s a truly daring release, but more importantly, it’s one of the best alternative records of recent times and fully cements their place at the core of the British metal scene.”

3.) Billie Eilish – ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“It really seems like the world is falling to their knees in awe of Billie Eilish, and at this rate, she’s got the rest of it at her feet.”

2.) Bring Me The Horizon – ‘amo’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“…there aren’t any other bands with their background and at their status who are willing to experiment and explore fearlessly, and much like their past few LPs before it, ‘amo’ has set a blueprint for many acts to copy and refine for years to come.”

1.) Slipknot – ‘We Are Not Your Kind’

Rating:

What we said about it:
“‘We Are Not Your Kind’ is unquestionably the best Slipknot record for the past decade and a half. It may not be one that pummels you into oblivion with “‘Iowa’ levels of heavy”, but Slipknot finally have managed to merge their roots, implement experimentation, and instil a passion, vigour, and fire that by some was questioned to even still exist into this record, and in doing so have produced one of the strongest metal releases of 2019.”
