One listen to ‘Showdown’ and another to anything from the band’s debut album ‘Hold Your Colour’ shows how much the band have changed, and in time leant more towards a more mainstream approach over the past few years. This move has clearly worked in their favour, catapulting the genre-twisting ‘pioneers’ into growing musical successes.
‘Showdown’ is much like the other singles released from latest album ‘In Silico’, an encasement of drum & bass and dance music roots and prowess layered with pop and rock input. By no means is ‘Showdown’ a failure, and will undoubtedly see itself in clubs and venues across various parts of the globe making people dance ’til they sweat, but you can’t help but think that everything sounds a bit too similar.
