SINGLE: Cute Is What We Aim For – The Curse Of Curves

Release Date: April 30th, 2007
Label: Fueled By Ramen / Decaydance

Signed to Fueled By Ramen, you can already guess what sort of sound Cute Is What We Aim For produce. Home to Panic! At The Disco, Paramore and Cobra Starship, each band sounds somewhat similar and delivers a package of pop-punk with their own signature sound to make it their own. ‘The Curse Of Curves’ is no exception, but that doesn’t mean to say that this new single isn’t good.

Shaant is as clever as always with his choice of lyrics; it may be hard to work out at first, but this song is about sex, or at least fornicating in some fashion. Combined with the band’s simple yet catchy drum beats, bass lines, guitar riffs, and of course melodic vocals, it means that this song could stick in your head for hours and hours on end; you just have to sing along.

Cute Is What We Aim For may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying that this band have written yet another successful and catchy pop-punk song.
