Following the news of their signing to Rude Records earlier this week, Waxflower have now released their first single through the label, ‘Sixteen Floors’.

This is what frontman Tristan Higginson had to say about the song and its meaning.

“‘Sixteen Floors’ was written at the end of a relationship, and along with my anxiety and panic disorder I was facing a new kind of sadness, with the backbone of my emotional support system gone. The song served as a vessel for all the negative thoughts and emotions that I wanted to externalise, but couldn’t. I remember that writing session being very fast, and very cathartic.”

You can stream and give ‘Sixteen Floors’ a listen below.

During the month of June, the band will be donating all streaming revenue to the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and Black Lives Matter organisations.
