British heavy hitters Venom Prison have just debuted a cover of Stampin’ Ground‘s track ‘Officer Down’, which featured on the band’s 2000 LP, ‘Carved From Empty Words’.

The band recorded the track last month, and have debuted it with a video of them performing the track in their homes spliced with clips of members of the police force abusing their power; exactly what the song is all about.

This is what the band had to say of doing the cover.

“In a climate where abuse of power, systematic racism and the force of police brutality continue to take lives, we felt it was the perfect time to put together a classic favourite of the band. Here is our cover of Stampin’ Ground ‘Officer Down’ We call for an end to the systemic racism that allows this culture of corruption to continue.”
