Sadly the list of gigs and festivals that are being forced to cancel due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic is growing, and one of the latest additions is this year’s UK Tech-Fest.
This year’s UK Tech-Fest was set to see headline performances from Reflections, The Ocean, and Fit For An Autopsy.
The organisers broke the news earlier today in a statement, in which they also explained that tickets already purchased for this year’s event can be held onto and remain valid for the festival’s planned return in 2021.
They also state that they plan to keep intact much of this year’s line-up for next year, though exactly which acts will remain for the 2021 line-up are yet to be confirmed.
You can read the full statement below.
“It is with a very heavy heart that we announce that UK Tech-Fest will have to be postponed.
This was the statement we never wanted to release and it was by no means an easy decision to come to, but to aid in the safety of the public and in times of such uncertainty, it is no longer viable to put on Tech-Fest this year.
The new dates are Thursday 1st – Monday 5th July 2021.
We’re really sorry to everyone who was planning on attending Tech-Fest, we know how important this festival is to so many people. We are absolutely gutted to not be able to deliver this year, but the good news is the majority of this year’s bands are already confirmed for next year.
To all existing ticket holders, your tickets will be valid for 2021 and we ask that, if you can, you please support us by rolling over your ticket. However, we understand this is a difficult time and if you’re unable to join us next year or need a refund you will able to get one for the face value of your ticket. All ticket holders will be contacted individually.
Alternatively, you can donate your ticket to support us, which would be hugely appreciated and mean the world to us.
Much love, stay safe and we’ll see you at Newark Showground in 2021
UK Tech-Fest Team”
Next year’s UK Tech-Fest will take place on July 1st–July 5th 2021 at Newark Showground, Newark.
More details will be announced as they develop.
