After a string of hearings, a date of November 25th 2013 has been set for a trial for Lostprophets frontman, Ian Watkins, in regards to the allegations and claims of child sex offences held against the Welsh vocalist.
Earlier this week, the 35-year-old appeared at Cardiff Crown Court via video link and denied all charges made against him, including the taking, making and possession of indecent images of children. Along with this, Watkins also faces allegations of two counts of rape of a child under one-year of age, one count of sexual assault of the same child and one count of conspiracy to rape another baby.
After his court appearance this week, Watkins released the following statement through his solicitor that protested his innocence:
“I want to thank my family, friends and all the fans for their continued support throughout this whole ordeal. Your support gives me strength. I deny all the allegations against me and I will fight to the end to clear my name.”
The next hearing is due to take place on June 6th 2013. The offences are alleged to have been committed between March 2007 and December 2012.
