After spending over two years behind bars, As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis has reportedly now been released from prison on parole. According to Alternative Press, a representative at the California Department Of Corrections And Rehabilitation confirmed that Lambesis was discharged on December 17th 2016.
The vocalist was originally arrested on May 7th 2013 for attempting to hire a hitman to murder his estranged wife, Meggan Murphy Lambesis. Following a trial procedure, during which he was on house arrest, he then pleaded guilty on May 16th 2014 to a felony charge of solicitation of murder. He was sentenced to six years in jail.
Having formed back in 2001, As I Lay Dying released six full-length studio albums, the last of which being ‘Awakened’ which dropped on September 25th 2012 through Metal Blade Records. Following his incarceration, the band went on indefinite hiatus, and have since formed the band Wovenwar.
Along with As I Lay Dying, Lambesis also formed and is the principle songwriter for the Arnold Schwarzenegger parody metal band, Austrian Death Machine.
