Leeds-based outfit The Ocean Between Us have announced that drummer Rob Kennedy has decided to part ways with the band. An official statement by Rob posted on the band’s Tumblr page can be read below:
“I’d just like to take this opportunity to say I’ve loved every minute of the last two years or so been a part of this band and following the dream. I’ve had a shit load of fun and got to do things a lot of people never get the opportunity to do and for that I can only be grateful. I’ve also met some amazing people through the band including my girlfriend Rachael, who I now intend to spend a lot more time with now I have it! The last few days have been pretty hard and I already feel like a big part of me is missing, but when one door closes another one opens. So although I will be spending the next few months doing normal guy stuff and taking some time to relax, I will without doubt be back in the game before long. I’d like to give a big shout out to the guys in For Everything A Reason, Acorah, Our People Verses Yours, Mind Set A Threat and While She Sleeps, just some of the many bands I’ve had an absolute blast with on the road and so many more guys who we’ve met and chilled with. I also want to personally thank Ian from A Wolf At Your Door Records for taking a personal interest in the band I love and investing the labels money into us, and also been a top mate. I also think a thank you is in order to anyone who’s ever supported The Ocean Between Us continue to do so as the band moves onward and I wish the guys the best of luck. I also want to thank my girlfriend and family for supporting me throughout been in the band and the last few days, couldn’t have done it without them.”
The Ocean Between Us will still be performing at Hevy festival this weekend.
