In a rather brief and abrupt statement, Missouri’s The Get Up Kids have announced that they have parted ways with their now former keyboardist, James Dewees.
The band confirmed Dewees‘ departure from the band via their socials, in a statement that simply reads that he is “no longer a member”.
James Dewees is no longer a member of The Get Up Kids.

At the time of writing, no further explanation or reasoning has been shared, and Dewees hasn’t issued a statement of his own either.
Dewees originally joined the band back in 1998 right up until their hiatus in 2005. He rejoined the band when they returned in 2008 and as such has featured on all of the band’s records, including this year’s full-length album, ‘Problems’.
Along with his part in The Get Up Kids, Dewees also has a solo project called Reggie And The Full Effect, and in the past has performed with My Chemical Romance, Death Spells, New Found Glory, Gerard Way, and Frank Iero.
More details regarding his departure from the band will be confirmed as it develops.
