Matty Healy, frontman for The 1975, has shared a cryptic message on social media teasing new music from the band’s side-project, Drive Like I Do.
The project, which is a completely separate entity from the The 1975, could be closer than fans think, with Healy sharing in an Instagram story that the band were “finishing DLID today”, with a picture of the singer in the studio.
While some fans may have been getting excited at the prospect of a full album release, Healy later updated with a photo of a drum kit captioned, “It’s not a full album you guys r crazy.”

This follows on from the band and Healy teasing new Drive Like I Do music last year, with a Drive Like I Do account appearing on Instagram and sharing a picture of a country field accompanied by lo-fi ambient music.
Rumours began circling again after the frontman later alluded to the idea of new music from the project last year, sharing a video of the group performing in 2005 with the caption: “we want a new DLID record.”
More details will be confirmed as they develop.
