Bristolian up-and-comers Sugar Horse have just shared a brand new song called ‘Richard Branson In The Sky With Diamonds’, which comes from their upcoming ‘Drugs’ EP.
This is what guitarist/vocalist Ashley Tubb had to say of the song and the EP.
“ This song is a centrepiece for the record. A mangling of every direction we go in, distilled down and blasted out at both destructive and fragile volumes. ‘Richard Branson In The Sky With Diamonds’ is based on the writing and videos of Chris Ott a formative Pitchfork writer, with a famously acerbic sense of humour. His Shallow Rewards series details the nepotism and self-serving culture within some areas of the music industry, as well as various niche historical pieces. A huge influence on me lyrically, as well as the general ethos of the band as a whole. Emphasis on originality is essential. Working hard to not repeat the same tired cliches and steering away from po-faced pretension.”

The band’s new EP, ‘Drugs’, will be self-released on April 17th 2020.
