Masked Iowan metal nonet Slipknot might be keeping it a little cryptic for now, but it’s almost a certainty now that they’ll be coming over to the UK next year for a headline run.
The first clue has come in the form of a poster shrouded in mystery, which was spotted at Download Festival.
Amongst a slew of other posters and flyers dotted around the festival site, some of which were promoting their forthcoming sixth album, ‘We Are Not Your Kind’, there was one that was completely black, save for the band’s logo at the top and the phrase “Live. 2020” at the bottom.
Now, that could mean a few things, including some form of live album or DVD/Blu-Ray, though that’s a bit of a stretch at this point.
However, during the band’s main stage headlining set at the festival yesterday evening (June 15th 2019), frontman Corey Taylor basically confirmed that it was a UK tour announcement but without explicitly saying so by saying “We’ll be coming back very, very soon.”
Of course, at this stage there’s not much else to know about when this tour will happen, how many dates it will be, which cities and venues they’ll be performing in, etc. but you can bet that more details will be confirmed pretty soon.
The band’s sixth full-length album, ‘We Are Not Your Kind’, is scheduled for release on August 9th 2019 through Roadrunner Records.
