Alex Lyman, guitarist for Sacramento based post-hardcore outfit Slaves, has announced via his official Instagram profile that the band have now been dropped by their agent along with their US tour later this year, and have been left in debt as a result. You can check out the Instagram post made by the guitarist below:
Anyone who knows me knows I am not one to ask for help, ask for money or ask for attention. Less than a month ago I was stabbed and never asked for a cent or any sympathy, a few weeks later after traveling to Boston from Sacramento less than a week after I was stabbed to try and play shows against the doctors orders. Slaves was unfairly stripped of the opportunity we each fought for, cut off casts to be able to do, played with open wounds because we love music and our fans so much. Our band is 30k in debt from money invested into this tour, I am personally 60k in debt from medical, our agent dropped us, our fall tour dropped us, and we are all scrounging scraps to try to keep a phone, house, car. Im STILL not asking for any type of donation. But we have posted our Merch discounted online to try and recoup this loss. Please share and pick up something if you see anything you like. This news follows the recent confirmation that the band were voted off of this year’s Vans Warped Tour, which came as a result of several allegations of indecent behaviour reportedly being carried out by the band, involving alleged use of alcohol and drugs.
The band’s new album, ‘Routine Breathing’, is rumoured for release this September via Artery Recordings.
