The organisers of the award winning Slam Dunk Festival have now revealed the secret location of the infamous aftershow party for the North (Leeds) date of the multi-site festival weekender to be the city’s First Direct Arena, where more than 4,000 festival-goers will get the chance to continue the party.
This is the first time that the First Direct Arena will be used for such an event, and both the team at Slam Dunk and the arena are chatting to the Guinness World Records with a view to creating the world’s biggest rock club night ever.
Ben Ray (Event Director/Founder of Slam Dunk) explained, “With the festival moving to a new location, there has been much speculation over the location of the infamous afterparty. We are proud now to announce something we have been putting together for some time. The afterparty will take place in the massive Leeds First Direct Arena. With over 4,000 people set to be rocking out to some of the biggest rock anthems, the event is set to possibly be the biggest rock club night the UK has ever seen! We are even in contact with the Guinness World Records to see if we can set an official record!?”
Along with this, Tony Watson (Head of Marketing for First Direct Arena) also commented, “Slam Dunk is a great and vibrant event for the City of Leeds, and we are looking forward to hosting the official aftershow party. We plan to finish the festival in style and give it a noteworthy end.”
This year’s Slam Dunk Festival will take place at the O2 Academy, Leeds (May 23rd), The Forum, Hatfield (May 24th), and Civic Hall, Wolverhampton (May 25th). Tickets for each date of the festival are available now, priced at £39.00 (£44.00 with aftershow party access) each, and can be purchased online from the festival’s official website (here).
