Floridian hard rock outfit Shinedown have just released a lyric video for their new single, ‘Atlas Falls’, a song that was actually made available a little while ago to a handful of fans.
The track was originally written eight years ago and only available with an exclusive fundraising tee for the non-profit humanitarian aid organisation, Direct Relief.
However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the band decided to re-release the song as part of a t-shirt bundle, and in doing so have raised over $300,000 (including an initial $20,000 donation from Shinedown that kicked it off) for their COVID-19 relief fund.
This is what frontman Brent Smith had to say about the song and the charity effort.
“The response to ‘Atlas Falls’ has been overwhelming, and Barry, Zach, Eric and I cannot say thank you enough to Shinedown Nation and everyone around the world that has supported Direct Relief during the COVID-19 response. The faith, the love, and the showing of humanity has just been incredible. ‘Atlas Falls’ is a reminder that we are at our best when we need each other, and the only way through this is together.”
