As a tribute to the Soundgarden and Audioslave vocalist Chris Cornell, who tragically died last month by committing suicide on May 18th 2017, System Of A Down vocalist Serj Tankian recently performed ‘Like A Stone’ with the surviving members of Audioslave as a tribute to the late frontman.
The remaining members of Audioslave – guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk – were joined onstage by Tankian at the Rock im Park festival in Germany over the weekend, where the members were performing a set under their new project Prophets Of Rage, which also features members of both Cypress Hill and Public Enemy.
You can watch a fan-shot video of the emotional performance below:
Both System Of A Down and Prophets Of Rage were on the line-up for the Nuremberg, Germany based festival, which runs alongside the equally popular Rock am Ring festival.
They’re also both set to perform at this year’s Download Festival, which takes place at Donington Park, UK from June 9th-11th.
When talking about Cornell shortly following his tragic passing, Tankian said he was “one of those guys” that “tried to make everyone in the room feel comfortable with themselves. He was generous that way, with his emotions and time.”
