Fans have been waiting with baited breath for years to even hear a note of new music from System Of A Down since they reformed back in 2010, and though that note is still yet to come, guitarist/vocalist Daron Malakian has resurrected his other project, Scars On Broadway.
The band has since been confirmed as more of a solo project for Malakian, and as such has been re-branded as Daron Malakian & Scars On Broadway.
Regarding the change, in a recent interview with Kerrang! he shared, “Nobody quit. When I first started Scars, I always said that it would be different line-ups from album to album… That is partly why I added my name in front of the band’s.”
Along with news of the band’s return, they’ve also dropped a new single ‘Lives’ with an accompanying video directed by Hayk Matevosyan, which you can check out below.
The song is set to be the lead single from the forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Dictator’, which was reportedly recorded in 2012, and is scheduled for release on July 20th 2018.
According to a report by Metal Injection (here), the band will be back in the studio later this year to record its follow-up.
