Back in April 2018, it was confirmed that djent/progressive metal outfit Periphery had parted ways with their longtime label partners, Sumerian Records, and intended to persue things independently for the foreseeable future.
The band have now announced that they have set up and launched their own record label, 3DOT Recordings.
3DOT is intended to serve as the label home for all forthcoming Periphery releases, along with any side-projects from any of the five band members. They will also be using the label to release material from non-Periphery artists too.
You can read a full statement regarding the label’s launch and its mission plan below.
“We are excited to finally realize a dream that we have had for a while now. With the strong vision we all share, it makes sense to extend that to the label side of things so we can have a vehicle that is perfectly set up for our releases. In addition to that, this gives us the opportunity to curate and nurture outside musical projects and bands that we truly love. 3DOT is a passion project first and foremost, and as a result we can focus on genuinely supporting the bands we work with, thereby using our love of music as our driving force.”
The label’s inaugural offering will be from Four Seconds – an electronic collaboration of guitarists Jake Bowen and Misha Mansoor.
Their debut album, ‘The Vacancy’, is scheduled for release on September 28th 2018 via 3DOT Recordings.
