Before 2019 came to an end, deathcore outfit Lorna Shore abruptly parted ways with vocalist CJ McCreery after a series of allegations began to surface online relating to abuse, all just weeks before dropping their third LP, ‘Immortal’.
You can read more about McCreery‘s removal from the band and the allegations made against him in our initial report.
Since then, the band’s next steps were uncertain, including whether or not the band would proceed with releasing the album they’d recorded as it is, or to re-record it with a new vocalist once one had been enlisted.
They’ve now released a statement detailing their foreseeable plans, confirming that ‘Immortal’ will be released later this month as scheduled and maintain McCreery‘s recorded vocals as initially planned. They’ve also confirmed that they’re on the search for a new vocalist to take his place, and that their scheduled UK/European tour with Decapitated will go ahead too.

“Lorna Shore wants to take a moment to thank all of our fans and the metal community for all of your support while we have been dealing with the aftermath of our recent decision to move forward without CJ McCreery on vocals.
Today, we are announcing that we, in conjunction with the understanding and incredibly supportive people at Century Media Records, have made the decision to release our new album, ‘Immortal’ on January 31, 2020 as planned. The decision was something we did not take lightly. We have already begun the search for a new vocalist, and we have EVERY INTENTION to continue Lorna Shore stronger than ever. Our fans and the metal community have been extremely patient through multiple delays surrounding this album. You’ve waited long enough. It makes no sense to scrap or revise the record with new vocals, which was a feeling shared by both the band and the label.
So to be clear – Lorna Shore is all systems go. We will have further announcements regarding a new vocalist as soon as possible. Europe/UK tour with Decapitated is happening. Don’t believe anything you hear unless you hear it from us. We won’t let you down.”
The band’s third studio album, ‘Immortal’, is set to be released on January 31st 2020 via Century Media Records.
