NEWS: London’s House Of Vans to host Heavy Music Awards 2017; EMP confirmed as main sponsor!

Public voting opens up for the first ever Heavy Music Awards in just under two weeks, and now the organisers have confirmed that the inaugural event in August will be hosted at London’s House Of Vans below Waterloo station. The venue, which boasts main stage, art gallery, cinema and skate bowl, mini ramp and street course, will welcome around 800 guests for the big night.

The unique 30,000 square foot venue not long ago hosted a super intimate set from thrash metal legends Metallica, and since its opening back in 2014 has also hosted shows from the likes of Bring Me The Horizon, Slaves, Turbonegro, Cancer Bats, and Foo Fighters.

Along with confirmation of where the Heavy Music Awards will be held this year, they’ve also confirmed that the headline sponsors of the event will be rock and metal merchandise company, EMP.

The company, which was founded over 30 years ago in Lingen, German, operates in 18 countries across Europe, and will also be presenting the award for Best Album at the inaugural award ceremony.

Public voting for this year’s Heavy Music Awards will open on May 22nd 2017 ahead of the event on August 24th 2017. More information on how to vote once it opens will be confirmed over the coming weeks.
