Post-hardcore up-and-comers Lastelle have just released a new single called ‘Departure’, which comes from the band’s forthcoming ‘Delicate’ EP.
Bassist Freddie Whatmore had this to say of the track.
“Another personal song, this song deals with the mental process of losing a loved one. The chorus line “In the end, aren’t we just chasing the time that we’ve spent our life wasting? All I hope is that you’re happy now” is about how the death of someone else can bring an overwhelming sense of your own mortality, and questions whether you’ll feel fulfilled when your life comes to end. There were a few different versions of the end of this song, but what we settled on probably ended up as the heaviest part in any of our songs!”

The band’s new EP, ‘Delicate’, is out on February 26th 2021 through Year Of The Rat Records/Beth Shalom Records.
