About a year ago, the news broke that Metallica frontman James Hetfield had landed his first acting role where he would be starring in an upcoming biopic about the infamous serial killer, Ted Bundy.

Well, now the first official trailer for the film, titled Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile, has dropped, and we get to see some brief snippets of Hetfield in action.

Hetfield plays the role of Officer Bob Hayward, the Utah highway patrol officer who first arrested Bundy (played by Zac Efron) back in 1975.

The director, Joe Berlinger, was a co-director on Metallica‘s 2004 documentary, ‘Some Kind Of Monster’. He also directed the Paradise Lost documentaries about the West Memphis Three, to which Metallica licensed their music for free.

You can take a look at the official trailer for the film below.

The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 26th 2019, though details of a public screening/release are yet to be confirmed.
