Following its exclusive premiere on SIRIUSXM Octane, metalcore horror fanatics Ice Nine Kills have now released a brand new song called ‘Your Number’s Up’.
A new addition to feature on ‘The Silver Scream: Final Cut’, the deluxe edition of last year’s highly praised ‘The Silver Scream’ LP, the song is inspired by the 1996 slasher classic, Scream.
Much like the iconic opening scenes of the film, the song sees the telephone conversation exchange of frontman Spencer Charnas as the killer, Ghostface, and actress Sarah J. Bartholomew voicing the role of the victim character, played in the movie by Drew Barrymore.
This is what Charnas had to say about the movie and the song.
“The bloody mark that Wes Craven’s Scream left on the horror genre cannot be overstated. I saw the movie in theaters when I was 11, but I can remember the experience as if it were yesterday. Although I had already been a big fan of slashers, this was the first time I had ever seen one on the big screen. I was hooked from the opening sequence and watched in awe at the devilishly sharp self-referential dialogue that cut through the screen like a knife. The film single handedly revitalized the slasher/horror movie craze in ’90s, and it will forever remain a crucial figure in the genre. The time has come for us to give my favorite film the INK-horror treatment it deserves, and I couldn’t be more excited for the world to experience ‘Your Number’s Up.'”

The deluxe edition of the band’s fifth studio album, ‘The Silver Scream: The Final Cut’, is out on October 25th 2019 through Fearless Records.
