Following a decade of writing, recording, and performing live with Boston’s Ice Nine Kills, bassist Justin Morrow has officially announced that he has stepped down from the band.

The news of his departure follows his six month long tenure filling in for Pennsylvanian metalcore troupe Motionless In White, whom he will now be joining as their full-time bassist instead, replacing Devin “Ghost” Sola who left last year.

Morrow had this to say about his decision to move from Ice Nine Kills over to Motionless In White.

“After ten rewarding years of creating music with Ice Nine Kills, the band and I have made the mutual decision to part ways. I am forever thankful for the memories, experiences, and friendships made along the way. Looking forward, as many of you know I have recently been filling in for bass in Motionless In White, and today I am proud to announce that I will be joining Motionless full time as the new bass player. Once again, thank you to all of the friends and fans. Though I am no longer with INK, I wish them the best of luck with future endeavors.”

Along with Morrow, Ice Nine Kills also issued a statement of their own regarding his departure, in which they also confirmed that they have acquired a replacement in Joe Occhiuti (ex-Venetia Fair).

“Over the last 6 months our bass player, Justin Morrow, has been filling in for Motionless In White. After much consideration, we have mutually decided to part ways and Justin will be moving forward as the bass player for Motionless in White. We are excited for Justin and wish him nothing but the best!

Meanwhile, we are pleased to announce that filling Justin’s shoes will be ex-Venetia Fair member pianist/vocalist, Joe Occhiuti, who co-wrote some of ‘The Silver Scream’ and who has been a part of the extended INK family for many years. Joe brings with him an extensive multi instrument musical background and will not only be taking over bass duties, but will be contributing keys and back-up vocals, breathing even more insanity into the INK live show. We’ll see you on the road all Spring on the ‘March Into Madness’ and ‘Episode III’ tours!”

Finally, Motionless In White also released a statement regarding Morrow‘s move over into their line-up, in which they welcome him into the fold as a full-time member of the band.

“As many of you know, for the past few months we have be performing with our very close friend Justin Morrow, who has been filling in for our vacant bass player position. After much time spent between our band and Justin, and seeing the support of many fans who have watched him perform with us, we are honored to announce that he has made the decision to join us full time as our new bass player. He has been a perfect fit both on and off stage and we could not be happier to enter our new album cycle feeling complete once again. For more information from Justin directly, please visit his IG @Justiniceninekillerz, and for our friends in Ice Nine Kills, please visit their Facebook page to read their announcement. As always, thank you for your support, and we’ll see you on the road this year.”

Ice Nine Kills‘ latest album, ‘The Silver Scream’, is out now through Fearless Records.

As hinted at in their statement above, Motionless In White will soon begin putting work together for their fifth album and follow-up to 2017’s ‘Graveyard Shift’, which will be expected to drop in late 2019/early 2020.
