After around three years with the band following its formation in 2015, and then its subsequent reinvention the following year, Holding Absence have regrettably announced that they’ve parted ways with guitarist and founding member, Feisal El-Khazragi.
The Cardiff based outfit announced the news of his departure from the group via a short statement issued on their Facebook account, which you can take a look at below.
“It is with deep sadness that we must announce Holding Absence & Feisal El-Khazragi have chosen to part ways.
The decision was mutual, and we are excited to see what Feisal chooses to do next musically, as we wish him the best of luck moving forward.”
Along with the announcement from the band, Feisal El-Khazragi has also released a personal statement of his own regarding his parting from Holding Absence, which reads as follows.
“This wasn’t an easy decision for me to make, but a decision that I felt needed to be made. Unfortunately, I will no longer be continuing on as a member of Holding Absence.
My endless gratitude goes out to all our team. To our incredible management, booking agents and label. To anyone who has helped further this band in any way. To anyone who has enjoyed the sound of Holding Absence and given it the chance to perform music to so many people. I simply cannot put into words how grateful I am and forever will be.
Going forward, I will continue to write music for new projects, one of which I’ll be announcing tomorrow.
All my love,”
At the time of writing, a replacement for Feisal El-Khazragi is yet to be confirmed, and Holding Absence‘s full-time member line-up consists of a trio.
More details surrounding the band’s future output and activity, along with Feisal‘s forthcoming projects will be confirmed as they develop.
