Best known for fronting The Black Queen and now defunct outfit The Dillinger Escape Plan, enigmatic frontman Greg Puciato is now looking forward to a career as a solo artist too.

Puciato premiered ‘Fire For Water’, his debut single as a solo artist, on Dan P. Carter‘s BBC Radio 1 Rock Show last night (March 1st 2020) ahead of today’s worldwide release.

This is what Puciato had to say of his solo material.

“I started writing in May or so of 2019, for what I thought would be the next Black Queen album, except that’s not at all what came outs. So, just like everything else that’s been born of necessity, it felt like the right time to create a home for anything that I do that didn’t fit neatly under any other existing roof. The misfits needed a place to go.”

Along with opting for the heavy and more intense work akin to that of his time in The Dillinger Escape Plan and Killer Be Killed, it also marks the first music released through the singer’s recently launched label, Federal Prisoner.

His debut solo album, ‘Child Soldier: Creator Of God’, will be released this summer via Federal Prisoner.

More details surrounding the record are expected to follow in the coming weeks.
