One of the pioneers of the British post-hardcore scene, Funeral For A Friend, have announced the depature of their long-time sticks man, Ryan Richards. His position will be filled by ex-Rise To Remain drummer, Pat Lundy. A statement from Ryan regarding his decision to move on from the band reads as follows:
“After ten wonderful, enriching, emotional and fascinating years being a part of Funeral For A Friend – I’ve decided to hang up my drum sticks. I’ve always put music first in my life – but the time has come now for my family to take the top spot, after patiently waiting and supporting me for the last 10 years and more. I’m stoked to have my good friend Pat Lundy step into my vacant drumstool. There’s not a better drummer than Pat for the job.”
Newly recruited drummer Pat Lundy‘s first performances with FFAF will be at this year’s Slam Dunk Festival weekend, starting with the sold-out Leeds date on May 26th and then at Hatfield on May 27th. He had the following to say about joining the band:
“I am well excited about my new band. I’ve shared some of my best touring memories with the boys and you gotta believe there will be plenty more to come. A proper honour to have been asked to be a part of it. The new album is gonna wreck, so get excited. Come say hi and I’ll see yas on tour!”
