NEWS: Enter Shikari confirmed to headline Slam Dunk 2017 & ‘Take To The Skies’ 10th anniversary shows!

After some teasing a couple of days ago that they’d be celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album, ‘Take To The Skies’, British quartet Enter Shikari have confirmed that they’ll be performing a handful of special shows, which includes headline slots at next year’s Slam Dunk Festival weekend.

You can find all of the band’s forthcoming UK shows celebrating ‘Take To The Skies’ below:

MAY 23 – DUBLIN, Academy
MAY 24 – BELFAST, Limelight
MAY 27 – BIRMINGHAM, The NEC (Slam Dunk Festival – Midlands)
MAY 28 – LEEDS, City Centre (Slam Dunk Festival – North)
MAY 29 – HATFIELD, The Forum (Slam Dunk Festival – South)

Frontman Rou Reynolds had the following to say about the album celebrations, “Slam Dunk is a festival that we’ve been attending from the very start – Slam Dunk South is actually on the campus of my old Uni in Hatfield! It’s grown into one of the most important festivals in alternative music, and it will be an absolute honour to headline it in 2017.

We’re going to be celebrating the 10 year anniversary of our debut album ‘Take To The Skies’, which feels totally mental in and of itself. The fact that we get to reminisce and relive tracks we recorded so long ago, and that are still held dear by so many, is something I could have never anticipated back then and fills me with appreciation for everyone that has supported this band over the years.

We’ll never write another album like ‘Take To The Skies’, as Enter Shikari isn’t really a band that looks backwards. But as this is a special occasion it’s important for us to recognise the importance of this album to us, and for the family of people who have supported us since those early days. On a purely selfish note, I cannot wait to play some of the tracks we haven’t played since 2007, or even ever!”

Tickets for all of these dates will go on sale from 9:00AM on Friday (November 11th 2016), and can be purchased online from the band’s official website (here).
