NEWS: Download Festival announce pilot testing event for June 2021!

Though a full scale Download Festival weekend still isn’t on the cards until 2022, the organisers have confirmed a smaller scale 10,000 capacity event called Download Festival Pilot.

The pilot event, which will be held on June 18th-20th 2021, is part of the second phase of the UK Government’s Event Research Programme, with researchers from Public Health England will be overseeing the study and collecting data. You will need to be above the age of 16 to attend, and will need to read and agree to a consent document first to ensure you understand the research process and meet these criteria before you can buy a ticket.

Everyone on site will have to take a lateral flow test before entry and receive a negative result. Ticket holders who test positive will be refunded.

Attendees will then also have to take a PCR test with a negative result, and in turn all attendees will be able to enjoy the festival without a mask or social distancing in place.

The Download Festival Pilot line-up will be announced on Friday (May 28th 2021) at 12:00PM.

Priority access for Download Festival Pilot tickets will be given to Download Festival 2022 ticket holders, and will go on sale from 12:00PM on June 1st 2021. To eligible for priority access you will need to buy a Download Festival 2022 ticket before 5:00PM on May 30th 2021.

General sale tickets will then be made available from 12:00PM on June 3rd 2021.

Tickets can be purchased online from the festival’s official website.
