Despite only releasing their debut album ‘The Golden Age Of Not Even Trying’ back in January of this year, British rockers Dead! have announced in a statement today that they’ve decided to throw in the towel and call it a day.
In their statement, the band don’t explicitly explain their reasons to bring the band to a halt, but do confirm that all touring plans aside from a headline (and now farewell) show in London this October will still be going ahead.
You can read the band’s statement in full below.
“DEAD! IS DEAD.
We have an announcement to make, and it is not one we make lightly. To those of you who have been here from the start, and those that have joined only recently, we love you all. Thank you for allowing us all to be a part of something bigger than ourselves.
We won’t be playing any further shows this summer, sorry. but as a farewell show and a celebration of Dead! we will be playing our Underworld headline show on October 5th which has now sold out. We look forward to seeing you there.
We want to say thank you to everyone who has worked with us over the years and a special thank you to everyone who has come to a show, bought a CD, worn our merch or let us sleep on your floor.
We have been Dead! – YOU are the Damned, Restless Future.
All of our love, the boys X”
The band’s debut album, ‘The Golden Age Of Not Even Trying’, is out now via Infectious BMG/Rise Records.
