Making the most of the downtime that has come with the current lockdown, Slipknot and Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor has confirmed that he has now recorded his debut solo album.
Taylor confirmed the news when speaking with Lzzy Hale of Halestorm during the online video radio programme, We Are Hear “On The Air”, and you can read an excerpt of what he said below.
“Right when everything’s starting to calm down, I secretly recorded my first solo album. I did it with the band that I’ve been using for my solo shows for years, and just a bunch of people that I’ve been working with forever.
So, Jason [Christopher, bass], Dustin [Schoenhofer] on drums — from Walls Of Jericho, and countless other things — Zach Throne [guitars], who I’ve been jamming with for a long time and ‘Tucc’ [Christian Martucci, guitars] actually, from Stone Sour and everything. All five of us did it. We went in, and we recorded 25 songs in about two and a half weeks and we did everything live, and it’s dope.
That’s all I’m going to say for right now, but it’s really, really good. It’s been really hard to not talk about it, but we’re really stoked and the label didn’t throw up when they heard it, so it’s good.”
