After a handful of years in the band, bassist Matt Deis has confirmed that he has parted ways from Pennsylvanian hard rock outfit CKY, citing that he’s decided to step down to focus on himself and his family.

You can take a look at his full statement below.

“Thank you to Cig, Jess, all of our hardworking crew & management, and the entire CKY Alliance for having me back these past two years. I’m stepping aside to focus on myself and my family so that CKY can continue their dominant return with nothing holding it back. I’m so proud of everything that’s been accomplished and I can’t wait to see what’s to come. Be sure to catch them in Europe this July and August while tickets are still available.”

Deis initially joined the band back in 2005 shortly after the release of their third album, ‘An Answer Can Be Found’, and later featured on 2009’s ‘Carver City’ before stepping down the following year.

He re-joined the band in 2015 and performed on their latest record, ‘The Phoenix’, which was released in 2017.

At the time of writing, there’s no word on who will be filling in for Deis on their forthcoming touring commitments and there’s no news on a full-time replacement.
