Back in June, Chadwick Johnson and his bandmates in Hundredth released their fourth album, ‘Rare’, marking a shift away from their metalcore roots and into shoegaze territory. Not content with closing off 2017 with just one record and spearheading one project, Chadwick has announced a new one.
Pure Violet is the name of his solo side-project, which is long developed yet very much in its infancy, and one that Chadwick explains is “basically a bedroom project” that definitely possesses a post-punk and dream-pop sound.
Though details are thin on the ground, with no mention on further releases, label assistance, or anything of that nature, Chadwick has unveiled the first two tracks from the project – ‘Garden’ and ‘Numb’.
You can stream both of the songs below.
More details surrounding Pure Violet will be confirmed and unveiled as it develops.
