Back in December 2011, Hey Monday vocalist Cassadee Pope announced that the pop-rock outfit would be on hiatus whilst she completed an acoustic solo tour and the other members pursued their own things.
That was eight years ago, and since then Pope has gone on to win the American talent show The Voice and become a successful country music artist. All the while, of course, fans have long-awaited an eventual return from Hey Monday.
Well, it’s possible that a reunion is just around the corner. Earlier this week, Pope posted on her Facebook account wishing the band’s debut (and to date only) album ‘Hold On Tight’ a happy birthday on its eleventh anniversary.
“Happy 11th Birthday, to our pre-teen ‘Hold On Tight!’. Hey Monday and this debut 11-track album was the start of it all for me. So many great memories together as a band and lots of career highlights. I can’t believe all the places #HeyMonday took me, literally and figuratively. I owe so much of my knowledge of how to navigate this crazy industry to this band and first album. Definitely giving it a listen today in honor.
PSSSTTT – Check back next Monday.
Leaving that cryptic little message at the end has led many to speculate that we may finally see an end to Hey Monday‘s long hiatus, but we’ll soon find out come Monday (October 14th 2019).
