NEWS: Capture The Crown decide to call it a day!

Despite plans to release a third album and follow-up to 2014’s ‘Reign Of Terror’, Australian metalcore troupe Capture The Crown have abruptly announced that they’ve decided to call it a day.

The band broke the news rather bluntly and straight to the point, making no statement but just posting a black image on their socials with the message “RIP | CTC” along with their years of activity. Along with this, all of their tweets and a large majority of their Facebook posts up until mid-2012 have been removed.

Due to no statement or announcement beyond this, there’s no word as to whether the band will perform any farewell shows, or will release the planned third album at some point in the future.

The last song released by the band, ‘The Lake’, was put out in July 2016, and was set to feature on the record. Vocalist Jeffrey Wellfare released the following message alongside the song at the time:

“This is the first Capture the Crown album where the band has written the album in its entirety, no help, no writers, just four band members who came together and wrote some kick ass songs. I’m so proud of the boys for all the hard work they have put into this album. It truly shows when listening to the content. This is the best material the band has written to date. The songwriting, the content and emotion creates a special stage for the most epic roller coaster ride. Assume nothing, be surprised.”

Wellfare also tweeted some cryptic messages in the past few weeks, including one shortly after the announcment was made, saying “We lost ourselves along the way”, assumingly referring to the band and their split.

Any additional news surrounding the band’s split and/or any potential new material surfacing will be confirmed as and when it comes to light.
