After touring with the band as their lead guitarist for the better part of the past year following the tragic passing of Tom Searle in August 2016, British technical metalcore favourites Architects have now announced that Josh Middleton of Sylosis has become an official and full-time of member of the band.
The news comes shortly after the release of the band’s brand new song, ‘Doomsday’, their first offering of material since Tom‘s untimely death last year, who lost his three year long battle with melanoma skin cancer.
Architects tweeted out news, confirming Middleton‘s joining of the band. You can check it out below.

Initially, Thy Art Is Murder guitarist Sean Delander filled in for the band last year during their headline tour across Australia, before Middleton joined up as their touring guitarist for their European dates at that time along with all following and subsequent dates.
Shortly after announcing the news, Middleton also posted about joining the band via his Instagram account, in which he also assures fans of his other band Sylosis that it doesn’t mean that they’re done.
I have now joined @architects as a full-time member. I would like to thank the band and fans for being so accepting. I'm very grateful to be in this position. Thank you for all of the support regarding Doomsday. Stuart Birchall did such an amazing job with the video. Sylosis fans, thank you for your patience over this past year. It doesn't mean Sylosis is done. Huge thanks to my bros @danarchitects @samarchitects @aliarchitects @adamarchitects and everyone in the Architects family! ❤️
Architects are currently writing the follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed full-length album, ‘All Our Gods Have Abandoned Us’, out now through Epitaph Records.
