Award-winning singer/songwriter Adam Schlesinger, one of the founding members of pop-rock outfit Fountains Of Wayne, tragically passed away yesterday (April 1st 2020), aged 52.

Schlesinger was recently diagnosed with COVID-19, a new disease which is an ongoing global pandemic caused by coronavirus, and sadly resulted in his death.

It was recently reported that he had been hospitalised due to the condition, where he had been admitted into an intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator.

Along with his work with Fountains Of Wayne, who rose to fame in 2003 with the release of their single ‘Stacy’s Mom’, Schlesinger had also provided music towards a number of television shows, including Crazy Ex-Girlfriend for which he won an Emmy in 2019.

We here at DEAD PRESS! offer our deepest sympathies to Adam Schlesinger‘s family, friends, and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
