DP!: How would you describe yourselves to someone who has never heard Greta Van Fleet before?
Greta Van Fleet: Our music has the ability to take you back in time and also into the future. There’s a certain timeless quality about it. Hot and sweaty rock and roll the way it was meant to be played.

DP!: How did the band form?
Greta Van Fleet: Being brothers we played music together for a long time. Daniel has been a friend for as long as we can remember. We all loved playing together so much, that habit has turned into addiction. When the four of us got together, we realised we had something substantial.

DP!:What plans do you have for the future?
Greta Van Fleet: Lots of touring and then making an album. We’re touring through the end of the year as well as recording and plan to put out an album next year.

DP!:Which new bands are you listening to right now?
Greta Van Fleet: Fleet Foxes, Rival Sons, Kaleo, Grizzly Bear, The Shins, The Tallest Man On Earth. There’s a lot of good music out there right now, you just have to dig for it.

DP!:Which bands do you aspire to and why?
Greta Van Fleet: The Beatles are one of our biggest influences because they were fearless. So they became the trail blazers for the contemporary music of their time. Their music is timeless and they are legendary songwriters. Plus, Paul McCartney! We idolise their musical integrity.

DP!:What’s the stand out moment in your career so far?
Greta Van Fleet: There have been so many amazing moments so far, from our quickly selling out shows on our headlining tour to ‘Highway Tune’’s 1 million YouTube views, but probably the most stand out moment was being asked to open for Bob Seger. We’re really looking forward to that show! It’s such an honour.

Greta Van Fleet‘s debut EP ‘Black Smoke Rising’ is out now, via Republic Records, and you can order the album here.
