Rude Records are starting to get a habit for picking up all the best new pop-punk and punk rock bands across the globe, including Farnham boys Homebound who are gearing up to release their brand new EP ‘More To Me Than Misery’ on the Italian record label. To celebrate the release of their new record, we caught up with vocalist Charlie Boughton to pick his 5 favourite records released by his labelmates and told us a little bit about each one.
KNUCKLE PUCK – WHILE I STAY SECLUDED
This is one of my favourite EP’s, and still some of my favourite tracks this band have done. It set a precedent for all emerging bands to try and meet, but to this day it’s still relatively unrivalled in my opinion.
BLOOD YOUTH – INSIDE MY HEAD
For a first release from this band, I was hooked. There wasn’t a lot of bands from the UK going for this vibe at the time so it felt fresh and new. My favourite track has to be ‘Dead Space’.
DECADE – PLEASANTRIES
A heavily under-appreciated band which is only epitomised by how great this record is. Really impressive song writing throughout and a record that you can enjoy from start to finish. I had this on repeat a lot when it was released and still play it regularly.
STAND ATLANTIC – SIDEWINDER
Even in 5 tracks, you get a real idea of this bands potential and what they’re about. Hooks aplenty and great vocal, I’m excited to hear more from them. My favourite track is probably ‘Sidewinder’.
SLEEP ON IT – OVEREXPOSED
Another band with an amazing vocal that really helps stick them out above the rest. I hadn’t heard too much from this band before the full length but I’m definitely a fan now, hopefully they’re back in the UK soon.
