Alongside fronting metalcore outfit The Plot In You, Landon Tewers also boasts his own solo venture, and through that he has his own mini concept surrounding an android, named Ai640.

As the name suggests, ‘Ai640, Pt. III’ acts as the third instalment of the story that started almost five years ago. A quick summary by the vocalist himself is “This is a story about a robot with artificial intelligence that escapes the lab he was made in, sees how disgusting mankind is, and decides the only way to save the planet is to exterminate all humans.”

Unquestionably, this is a subject that’s been picked up plenty of times by movies and bands alike before, but Tewers has created one of a kind pieces with each EP. The love interest the AI found in ‘…Pt. II’ has now passed away, and the original wrath within is back.

With just four tracks, Tewers shows an insane amount of variety and talent. From guttural bellows to perfectly controlled shrieks, his voice goes through every transformation possible within a mere 11 minutes. Sonically it sometimes reminds of early Upon A Burning Body, other times it’s more Architects, but the overall mood of an apocalyptic scenery never ceases to exist.

Lyrically, the story is captivating with twists and turns, appealing to God multiple times to fix what he’s done, pleading and threatening at the same time. As a newcomer it may take a few listens to fully understand what’s going on, but it’s worth investing your time into.
