With some Emmure-sized beatdown clout colliding with the rich melodic might of metalcore’s finest, up-and-coming Southampton based quintet Our Hollow, Our Home wear their collective influences rather plainly on their sleeve with ‘//Redefine’‘s rather glossy yet thunderous attack.

Cuts such as ‘Shipwreck City’ may nod a touch too openly towards the likes of Bury Tomorrow et al, yet there’s certainly no denying the searing impact when ‘Aversion’ and closer ‘Rest Assured’ notch up the brutality. Aside from this, however, Our Hollow, Our Home stake themselves very much at the melodic end of the metallic spectrum; their big chorus bluster and gleaming guitar elegance delivering a thoroughly modern if somewhat familiar brand of big sing-a-long polish.

‘//Redefine’ may push a reliable strain of metalcore aggression/anthemia, yet with a steady stream of slickly textured tunage and remorselessly infectious hooks, it’s easy to forget any quarrels of originality and enjoy some euphoric bangers from yet another fresh faced UK outfit bringing the thunder.
