British hardcore unit Lifetight are pretty new to the scene, but as members this definitely isn’t their first rodeo. Danny Reeves (guitar) and Josh Murphy (drums) were both a part of Lock & Key, Elliott Black (bass) used to play in Idols Of Apathy, and Thomas Smith once fronted No Honour.
The band’s debut EP, named ‘Self-Tightled’ (see what they did there?), starts off with the band’s debut single and introduction to the world, ‘Energy’. Right from the get go of this track, you can tell that Lifetight aren’t here to mess about. It’s an absolute explosion of fun aggression.
All the tracks have that smile factor; when you hear a riff or breakdown that is sonically pleasing, you just smile like a complete idiot, and this EP is filled to the brim with them. Honestly, both ‘Big Boy House’ and ‘Misguided’ will just have you head banging all of the way though.
This is only the first material that we’ve got to hear from Lifetight, and this short EP alone it proves that there are much bigger things to come from them for sure.
