Acoustic delight Benjamin Sydes (or, better known under his moniker, B-Sydes) releases EP ‘Wrecked Vessels’, a heartfelt release with hidden gems. This guy is a bit of a dark horse, his voice has a varied range in style with hidden magic on each accurate note sang.

This EP is simply just a relaxing listen throughout. Opening track, ‘In Confidence’ is the best of the four track offerings, with second title-track ‘Wrecked Vessels’ being perhaps a bit too simple at times, but maybe that was the direction he wanted to go. Benjamin‘s voice continues to be as good as the first track but his soft guitar work through each verse seems to not be enough for the projective vocals he is portraying.

Overall, there’s no doubt that this guy has talent, and as solo EPs go it’s your bog standard release. But, we presume he would be better suited live then on a recorded outlet. Head down to a local show next time he’s in your town and see for yourselves.
