It seems that Linkin Park have taken a bit more of a pop-driven route with their latest single ‘Heavy’, featuring Kiiara. Now, Liverpool newcomers From Inside have taken a stab at making ‘Heavy’ more, well, heavy with their new cover.

Speaking of the reason behind choosing to cover a Linkin Park track, guitarist Thomas Booth explains, “Linkin Park is without the doubt the band that defines our childhood. When we first heard their new song, ‘Heavy’, we really wanted to relate to it, but without those killer distorted guitars, Mr. Hahn’s scratching, or Mike Shinoda’s rapping, it just wasn’t the Linkin Park that has inspired us so much in our lives. We felt compelled to write a tribute to the band that has released those lives changing album, ‘Hybrid Theory’ and ‘Meteora’. So we all agreed to take it upon ourselves to head straight into the studio and put our own spin on how we feel ‘Heavy’ could have sounded if they had approached it in the same vein as their earlier album. We simply wanted to put the heavy side back into the Linkin Park sound.”
The band’s debut EP, ‘The New Era’, is out now.
