It’s happened, Slam Dunk Festival has officially turned 10 years old. Back when it started out in 2006, it was composed of seven bands on one stage, headlined by Fall Out Boy. Yet, here we are today, with a festival that is hosted at three separate locations across the UK, including a new home in Birmingham – the biggest site of them all – with eight stages hosting at least seven bands each. It’s truly exploded into one of the biggest alternative festivals the country has to offer, and with Panic! At The Disco picked to headline their biggest milestone yet, it seems this is still early days in the grand scheme of it all.

Christmas is just around the corner but then again, if the shops are anything to go by it’s been “just around the corner” since fucking September.  By now you are no doubt infuriated by the 2001 tracklist of ‘Now That’s What I Call Christmas!’ that’s been constantly blasting away for the last… forever, and quite frankly, we are too.  So, to shake things up a bit the DEAD PRESS! Staff came up with the ’12 Days of Rockmas’, a festive Fuck You playlist of Rock and Metal Christmas themed songs.  With only 12 days until the Big Jebus Birthday Showdown be sure to whack these Noel Nasty’s on your tinsel covered speakers, kick over a snowman, lace the crackers with gunpowder, drink all the sherry and turn it up to 11.

Album number twelve? *sigh* Come on then, guys. Let’s hear it then. Reluctantly pressing play, you’ll immediately be thrown off guard by the irritating twangy tones of a sitar. Could this be the start of a revolutionary new sound for Zebrahead, a la with The Beatles in India? Nope. The sitar is just a gimmick, and this is just another run-of-the-mill, more-of-the-same, stuck-in-cruise-control Zebrahead album. To quote the album’s second song, “It just can’t get any worse than this.”
