You Me At Six have been going from strength-to-strength for the last ten years as a band. Their last album, ‘Cavalier Youth’, achieved for them their very first UK number one record, and laid a marker down for British rock music. Since then, the band have been lying low for a while, and the hype around seems to have died down slightly. With the release of ‘Night People’ and a shift towards a more indie rock sound, the band have found themselves headlining the second stage at this year’s Reading & Leeds Festival. FEATURE: 50 albums that turn 10 in 2017!

A decade is, especially in the music world, quite a long time, even if it does seem to just flash by and feel like just a month. Ten years ago, back in 2007, things were very different; MySpace was still the kingpin of social media, Bring Me The Horizon were dodging bottles whilst supporting Killswitch Engage night after night, and Give It A Name and Taste Of Chaos were still a thing.

You Me At Six were great servants to British pop-punk/pop-rock, with three giant records that culminated with The Final Night Of Sin at Wembley Arena in December 2012, which represented a huge victory for the scene and cemented a huge future for the Surrey boys. What followed was a transformation to a radio ready rock band that peaked at the top of the charts with their fourth full-length, ‘Cavalier Youth’. Yet, follow-up ‘Night People’ takes them even further from their roots as they work with indie rock specialist producer Jacquire King to create a solid pop album to appeal to the masses.
