INTERVIEW: WoLF (Patrick Pinion of Carcer City) (31/03/2014)

Liverpool, a place best known for scousers, The Beatles and Superlambananas. However, those who are keen on an appetite for heavy music may well be aware of the city’s rising metalcore monsters, Carcer City, who nowadays are often spoke of on the same level as some of their genre contemporaries Bury Tomorrow, Heart Of A Coward and Bleed From Within, to name but a few.

One of the genre’s biggest contenders, Bring Me The Horizon, regularly reimagine their work with a remix facelift, delivering the goods to an audience who want to get some electonica, ambience, chill out and, in some cases, dubstep injections into their ears.

With this idea in mind, WoLF is the new side-project of Patrick (or Paddy) Pinion, who has spoke with us exclusively about the unveiling of this project. Note: As only two members of the site were able to review the festival weekend, we were sadly unable to cover every band performing throughout the festival.

Reaching the 10th anniversary of this festival, it has come a long way from its humble beginnings at the Derby Assembly Rooms as a one day event. Being the only underground metal festival in England, it has earned an infamy on par with the metal bands it has playing. Friday brings in the first full day of music to this year’s Bloodstock, and if anything like its previous years it’s going to be one hell of a weekend from start to finish.

2011’s run of the annual Bloodstock festival has added yet more bands to its already stellar line-up. Latest additions to the festival’s bill are Wolf, 1349, Nemhain, Survivors Zero, Def-Con-One and the UK festival exclusive and return of Kreator.
